CURBSIDE SERVICE BEGINS JUNE 8, 2020!

Hi Friends!

A couple library announcements and updates:

The library's Facebook page is still experiencing problems with uploading videos and live streaming! A new Chapter Chatter title began

May 26, Night of the Howling Dogs by Graham Salisbury, and it has disappeared! Quite a mystery but working diligently to get these issues resolved. Live readings and videos will resume as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience! Any insight into this issue is welcome.

Summer Reading Challenge!

As you know, the program is going virtual this year, including a mobile app if you choose to log reading via your phone/tablet. You don't have to but is there for your convenience.  You may download the app in preparation for the program to begin; but you cannot do anything, yet, beyond that as the site is not live. Coming very soon! The app will ask you to search for your library and right now it will say "no results" do you want to create an account anyway? NO It will find the library once things go live. I will post pre-registration as soon as the site goes live.  You will still be able to participate from a desktop.

If you are unable to utilize the virtual Summer Challenge Program, PLEASE let me know. I will create a traditional Summer Challenge for your child/children for participation into the program.

Library Curbside Services!

Coming June 8, 2020! What does that mean? Materials will be released to you using the "ice cream" window in the front of the library; opposite the book return. PLEASE, wait until the library calls you that your material is ready! Remember, material must be quarantined for 72 hours before it can be given to you. Have your library card available when we call you for pick-up and which day (Monday OR Thursday) and time you will be arriving.  This will save time at the window if any troubleshooting within your account is necessary.

When you come to the library, please, practice social distancing and wearing masks when warranted. We are!

The HOLDS function to the Butler County online catalog will be turned back on June 8, 2020. You will be able to place holds for pick-up. If you are not accustom to this function you may call the library for direction or you may call the library and we will place the hold for you :) Just like "old" times!

All materials at any given time are to be returned through the book return window. No exceptions!

Lastly, the library has WiFi capabilities so all you need is to come to the parking lot and login!  The picnic table/umbrella in the library's patio area will be set up for your convenience if you choose to leave your vehicle and practice social distancing and wear a mask. The library will have a laptop available for use outside if you are in need of a device.  If you need Internet assistance, Miss Kathy will be happy to assist from inside the library.  Please, just call 724-476-1006.  Miss Kathy will be on site Mondays and Thursdays.  If you need assistance other times you are welcome to call the library and leave a message with your number for a call back.
