North Country Trail
The North Country National Scenic Trail (often called the North Country Trail) spans 4,800 miles across eight states, winding through western Pennsylvania where it traverses regional highlights like Moraine State Park, McConnells Mill, and Jennings Environmental Education Center. Maintained locally by the Butler County Chapter of the North Country Trail Association, the trail passes through northern Butler County right near West Sunbury, making the area a key waypoint for day hikers and through-hikers alike. In fact, the North Trails Public Library takes its name from these surrounding routes and serves as an active community hub and meeting location for local trail enthusiasts.
